Scales have arrived already. Yeah
It is pretty cool. I ordered a 40kg digital scale. Which requires batteries and it seems to work. The spring scales give consistent readings and I think will work great for weighing fuels in Haiti for experiments in fuel use.

Spring Scales
Andy ordered some spring scales to take to Haiti to help with experiments on how wood and charcoal are used compared with three stone fires.
Learning to cook with a Rocket Stove
Andy Aldrich has been testing his Stovetec rocket stove in preparation for Haiti. Today he boiled about 7 quarts of water then simmered it for over two hours with a little wood and 4 charcoal bricks. Worked well.

Stove Introduced in Maissade
I was able to take 4 stove to Maissade Haiti in Oct of 2009. The Haitian seemed impressed by the low smoke emissions and the low wood use. I have discovered that Tree, Water and People has been taking stoves to Haiti so I hope to be able to purchase them locally at a lower price.

New commercial stoves
Aprovecho has a link to new commercial rocket stoves. I purchased 4 of them. One for Pastor Yoyo, one for Ceres, one for me, and one to be arranged. I talked with a teacher about how rocket stoves could be part of a curriculum.
